It apparently went out of stock without the website detecting it. Never received the item. Amazon did refund my money but I waited a month thinking it was on the way because all indications such as USPS Tracking showed the item in transit when in fact it wasn't.
For the price and for my purpose, this amp was the right fit. The only thing I didn't care for on the amp was the speaker connections. The amp is a good, compact size to fit unobtrusively behind the TV. I would have prefered to have RCA jacks for the speakers. I connected this amp to the audio out jacks on the TV and to a pair of small bookshelf speakers.
Since the speakers have RCA connections, I made two RCA-to-bare-wire jumpers to attach to the amp, then ran RCA cables to the speakers. I leave the amp turned on all the time - once the amp volume is adjusted to taste, there's no need to access the amp controls on a reguler basis. I got just what I wanted - stronger, clear sound. I don't have theater sound for my TV, but I wanted a little more oomph than the TV speakers can give. The TV has adjustments for tone and surround sound and those controls work with this amp/speaker setup to fill the room with great audio.
The sound source (TV) connections are RCA plugs (also called "phono" plugs) but the speaker connections are clips for bare wires.
The Pyle wasn't quite enough, but for what I paid, I really can't complain. Was driving an old pair of Optimus speakers, that really need alotof power. Overall,the build quality seems good, and I am actually pretty happy with it. Love the size, sound quality is good, but don't try to run anything other thanvery efficient speakers. Granted, I was using it in a rather large space, and it would likely be fine in a smaller area, but I couldn't get the sound levels I was hoping to get. I plan to try it with a more efficient pair of speakers soon.
I'm very pleased. The sound quality with my bookshelf speakers is excellent. I really like the utilitarian technical look. The build quality is unusually good. My flat panel TV in my rather smallish den has RCA outputs, but are not powered. This unit is perfect. Not completely convenient as it does not respond to the mute on the TV remote button, but I think that is more a limitation of the TV.This does one thing, and does it really well.
PROS: COMPACT, WELL MADE, WELL SHIELDING; DO NOT INTERFERE WITH OTHER AUDIO SYSTEMS AROUND.DEFINITELY I RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT TO THOSE LOOK FOR A SMALL AUDIO AMP FOR YOUR PC, OR REINFORCE ONE CHANNEL OF YOUR EXISTING SYSTEM.CONS: THIS PRODUCT DON'T GIVE YOU THE 15x2 WATTS NOT MATTER THE KIND OF SPEAKERS YOU USE.MAYBE IF YOU CONNECT THIS TO A GOOD EQUALIZER OR PREAMP OTHER WILL BE THE RESULTS.ABOUT SERVICE: VERY WELL PACKAGED AND PROTECTED. ARRIVED AT TIME.
